Here is a giant "abribus" (bus shelter) used on Pie-IX boulevard in Montreal for the R-BUS 505 service in which passengers wait and are let off in the wide median of the 6 lane Pie-IX boulevard. Pie-IX boulevard was named after "Pie-IX" (Pope Pius the 9th) and is a major north/south artery of Montreal. During the late 80s and early 90s there were plans to build a metro line under this boulevard to Riviere-Des-Prairies. All plans are currently shelved. IT is also important to note that the 505 is also currently on hold for R-BUS service and it currently running curb side service for the last 4 years or so due to a list of accidents which started occuring at a more frequent pace. Plans are currently underway to return service to the lanes after a few adjustments are put into place to further increase the safety of the lanes. 2048x1536 JeanTalon_505_aribus.jpg |
Here is a old STCUM days sign over the escalator of the Saint-Hubert street entrance of Jean-Talon Metro station indicating that the ticket booth at this entrance is unmanned and that only Reg. fares are excepted with the exception of a reduced fare bus pass. It also indicates that no tickets are sold at this location nor any tourists passes and not to come into this entrance with children under 6 years of age or with any huge parcels for the entrance below will be automated sliding gates and not actual turnstiles. 2304x1728 Jean-Talon_st-Hubert_entrance_sign.jpg |
Here is another old STCUM bus stop panel displaying in RED the 935 Trainbus Du Parc which provides service to and from Parc commuter train station to Downtown via Parc Av. The STM is currently replacing all of these signs with the new STM panels which will unfortunately display the 935 in the GREEN Trainbus color and is no longer using RED anymore. Therefore enjoy this photo and this part of History! 2304x1728 935_panel.jpg |
Here's an old 505 STCUM days sign (even before they put STCUM on it in which case they only used to put the STM's logo) displaying that when the R-BUS lane (reserved bus lane, opposite of traffic) is down on Pie-IX that it becomes "service en Bordure" (curb side service) and that this becomes a stop. 2048x1536 505en_bordure_sign.jpg |
SPS sign panel "Service Provisoire de Surface" (Surface Provisionary Service) which is put in place when the serivce in the metro is interupted for a long duration or an "unknown or indetermined" duration. This one is for the green line headed toward Honore-Beaugrand station (the easternmost terminusof the Green line) and is on the corner of Pierre-De-coubertine boulevard and Desjardins Street (one block east of Pie-IX) 2048x1536 SPS_sign.jpg |
